We’ve been tracking the evolution of the activewear industry (see previous posts here and here), and based on our observations, business is booming. With estimated growth from $11.5 billion in 2013 to $178 billion by 2019, the activewear category clearly demonstrates a lifestyle shift in what’s appropriate attire for errands and even an evening out. Most recently, activewear has taken a step closer to the runway with silhouettes, materials and color palettes inspired by high fashion. Expect to see boutique brands and large companies alike vying to keep up with consumers’ need to be chic and in shape.
